Actor Tamannaah, who was seen last in Prabhudeva starrer Devi 2 and currently awaits the release of her Hindi film Khamoshi, has begun shooting for her upcoming Tamil horror-comedy which is being directed by Rohin Venkatesan of Adhe Kangal fame.
Tipped to be a heroine-centric horror flick, the film won’t feature a love interest for Tamannaah. The latest update is that the film is the official remake of Telugu comedy Anando Brahma, which featured Taapsee Pannu in the lead alongside popular comedians ‘Tagubothu’ Ramesh, Srinivasa Reddy, Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar among others.
Directed by Yatra fame Mahi Raghav, Anando Brahma was a film that was appreciated for its unique concept as it was centered on four characters with weaknesses that work in their favor when they join hands to stay in a haunted house for four days to make some quick bucks.
Made on a shoestring budget, the film was profitable and most importantly brought a fresh perspective to the done-to-death horror-comedy genre with the jokes working very well. The remake features Yogi Babu, Muniskanth, Bugs and Manzoor Ali Khan reprising the same roles of their Telugu counterparts.
The makers have already completed the first schedule and are expected to commence the second schedule as soon as Tamannaah is relieved from the promotions of Khamoshi, her upcoming release which also stars Prabhudeva.
With a slew of projects in her kitty, Tamannaah is looking at a very busy year with multiple releases. Among her recent releases, she was seen playing a bank manager who turns blind in Seenu Ramaswamy’s Kanne Kalaimanne. Her next big release is going to be most likely the Tamil remake of Queen, in which she has reprised Kangana Ranaut’s role. She also plays a crucial role in Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Tamannaah is currently shooting for Sundar C’s film with Vishal.
Last month, it was announced that she has signed yet another project with Vishal. Interestingly, she will be seen playing the antagonist in her second film with Vishal.
